Job Description
Lahti Museums operates as the regional responsible museum for Päijät-Häme. The museum complex includes the Historical Museum, the Ski Museum, the Radio and TV Museum Mastola, and the Lahden Visual Arts Museum Malva. Currently, there are about 70 employees in the museums. The Building Inspector works in the museum's research and cultural environment unit, which, in addition to the inspector, includes two other building inspectors and a restoration expert responsible for the region's built cultural heritage authorities. The Building Inspector is responsible for official tasks related to the built cultural environment and landscape in Päijät-Häme. They provide statements and opinions concerning the built cultural environment in the region and participate in official and work negotiations as well as inspections related to cultural environment. They act as an expert in projects and working groups related to the built cultural environment and provide necessary advice and guidance on the subject. We expect the applicant to have a suitable higher university degree and sufficient work experience related to the task, as well as knowledge of the relevant legislation. A driving license is required for the job. Familiarity with modern architectural heritage and restoration is considered an advantage. A 2-month probationary period applies to the position.
