Job Description
Would you like to be part of Finland's most significant energy and infrastructure projects? We are seeking a high voltage line designer / expert for data center and industrial projects in various locations. This is an excellent opportunity to join our growing team at the heart of the energy transition. Sweco offers comprehensive design and project management services for data center projects and is one of the largest players in the field in Finland. Your tasks will involve diverse general and preliminary design of overhead power lines and electrical network connections outside data centers and industrial sites. You will act as an industry expert within a multidisciplinary design team. Your role will be tailored to your experience and interests, but will include, for example: Design of power lines and network connections Route surveys, site planning Permitting and authority matters, landowner issues Communication with various project stakeholders You will work closely with other Sweco experts and receive support from skilled colleagues to succeed in your role. You will collaborate not only with your own team but also across technical boundaries. Sweco’s data center projects often involve specialized teams in data center architecture, building services, structural design, and infrastructure. Our designers work efficiently together, which accelerates decision-making and enables tight schedules. Different technical disciplines are carefully integrated at every stage of the design process. We operate across Finland in 28 locations, allowing you to choose the most suitable for your location. Key factors for success in this role: You should have experience in general design of high voltage lines and in executing high voltage or substation projects. You should have at least two years of experience in these areas. Knowledge of EN standards is required. Experience with network connection requirements is considered an advantage. A background in electrical engineering and the ability to advance projects in both site planning and permitting are valued. You are enthusiastic about the opportunities brought by the energy transition and have a strong vision for leveraging these through your work. You have a suitable education, such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical, energy, or environmental engineering. You work fluently in Finnish and English. You can see the big picture and understand how project details impact the overall outcome. Your insights and ability to develop new ideas support your work.
