Social Worker, Child Protection Outpatient Care Mikkeli - Etelä-Savon hyvinvointialue - Mikkeli, Finland

South Savo Well-being Services Eloisa is seeking a social worker for a fixed-term position in child protection outpatient care in Mikkeli from September 1, 2026, to August 31, 2027, or as agreed. As a social worker, you will be involved in planning and organizing services and support measures needed by clients. You will work as a partner to a social worker, but will also meet clients independently in your role as a social worker. You have decision-making authority regarding the services agreed upon in the client plan. Your work is responsible, diverse, and independent, but not solitary, as a colleague is available when needed, along with support, expertise, and supervision from colleagues. Your daily work is supported by a team consisting of social workers, social pedagogues, family workers, a family therapist, and a supervisor. The working hours are generally 38.25 hours per week, with remote work possible by agreement with the supervisor. Qualifications include a degree in social services (Bachelor of Social Services or equivalent) and a license under the Social Welfare Professionals Act (817/2015). A valid driver’s license and access to a car are also required, along with sufficient spoken and written Finnish skills for the role. Before employment begins, the selected candidate must provide a health statement. Working with children requires a criminal background check under the Criminal Records Act (504/2002) before starting work in employment relationships longer than 3 months. A probationary period applies. Experience in child protection and/or working with families with children is considered an advantage.
