Job Description
The City of Mikkeli's Housing and Environmental Services is seeking a legal counsel starting from August 1, 2026. The duties of the legal counsel include tasks related to the preparation of decisions by the building control authority, secretarial duties for the permit and supervision committee of the City of Mikkeli, and decisions regarding building encumbrances. Additionally, the legal counsel acts as a parking enforcement officer for the City of Mikkeli and assists the Housing and Environmental Services with legal investigations and preparations. Qualifications include a master's degree in law (other than a master's degree in international and comparative law) and familiarity with traffic issues. Experience in municipal decision-making and knowledge of administrative, construction, and procurement legislation are considered an advantage. The working hours are standard office hours, 36 hours and 15 minutes per week. Employment terms and salary are according to the Local Government Collective Agreement (KVTES), with the possibility of additional experience-based allowances of 3% or 8%.
