Temporary position as a special education teacher in high school - Rovaniemen kaupunki - Rovaniemi, Finland

The high school special education teacher is responsible for individual guidance and support related to students' learning difficulties, as well as strengthening study skills in collaboration with subject teachers. The special education teacher supports the planning of student support and special arrangements. The position is located at Rovaniemi Adult High School. The special education teacher's duties include supporting adult and Tuvan students. The position is fixed-term from August 10, 2026, to June 5, 2027. The qualification requirement is the qualification of a high school special education teacher, in accordance with the decree (986/1998) on the qualifications of education personnel. If no qualified persons are available at the time of appointment, teaching may be assigned temporarily to a person with sufficient education and skills required for the task. Certificates proving qualifications will be checked during a possible interview. We require the selected person to have good cooperation and interaction skills, versatile and student-centered pedagogical expertise, and good readiness to participate in the development of school activities. Salary and employment conditions are determined according to the municipal sector's collective agreement for teaching staff. The position follows an annual working hours system. The basic salary according to the pay scale at the start of employment is 4,342.00 euros. In addition, a task-based salary increase may be paid based on the assessment of the job's difficulty.
