Job Description

Metsola Daycare Center is hiring a full-time permanent Early Childhood Education Teacher. The group arrangements for the upcoming autumn are still being planned, so you can express your preferences for your future group! Metsola has six groups for children aged 0-5 years. Our daycare is located in Tapiola, Espoo, with good public transportation connections. Metsola Daycare is a charming and well-functioning log house that exudes and smells of newness. We have excellent facilities for group activities, a lovely forested yard, and great outdoor and sports opportunities nearby! As an Early Childhood Education Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, assessing, and pedagogical work for your group with the support of your team. Your team will include another Early Childhood Education Teacher and a Childcare Assistant. The Metsola community includes many professionals, from experienced veterans to those at the beginning of their careers. We are a humorous, development-oriented, and supportive group that values joy and laughter. We appreciate each other's strengths! Metsola operates a highly praised Assistant Director model in Espoo, which ensures better support from supervisors. The Assistant Director does not work directly with children but is a full-time managerial role. Your supervisor will always support you, be present in daily activities, and focus on positive leadership and staff well-being. They have also been awarded by the union as a Diamond Leader, nominated by staff. We offer a mentoring program to support you as you start your career as an Early Childhood Education Teacher. With the support of your mentoring group, you will become familiar with Espoo’s early childhood education and learn to recognize your strengths and skills. You will also have opportunities for professional growth and work well-being. You can discuss the joys and challenges of early career with an experienced mentor and connect with other novice teachers. Interested? We are already accepting applications! If Metsola feels like your new workplace, apply immediately! We review applications during the application period and will make a decision as soon as a suitable candidate is found. Workplace name and address: Metsola Daycare Center, Kelohongantie 6, 02120 Espoo Working hours: 38 hours 15 minutes/week The position is permanent starting from August 3, 2026, or by agreement. Qualifications: Qualification according to the Finnish Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018). Applicants who are about to graduate in early childhood education are also considered. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as required by the Criminal Records Act (6.2 §).
