South Savo Welfare Area Eloisa is seeking a registered nurse for a permanent position at Vaalijala's expertise and support center, Ankkuri, in Pieksämäki, starting from September 1, 2026, or as agreed. Ankkuri is a 7-bed unit for children and adolescents requiring intensive special support. It provides temporary, goal-oriented neuropsychiatric rehabilitation for children and youth aged 6-18 on the autism spectrum, with neuropsychiatric challenges such as ADHD, Asperger's, Tourette's, or autism, including possible multi-diagnosis. The rehabilitation is based on daily life in the unit and evidence-based methods. Special attention is paid to communication and participation support. The multidisciplinary team services support rehabilitation, and family involvement is encouraged as part of the youth's rehabilitation. Additionally, the rehabilitation includes basic education at Sateenkaari special school or, for preschool-aged clients, individually planned early intervention. As a nurse, you will participate in daily client work, develop daily activities, and contribute to planning. You will implement and evaluate medication administration and the progress of the rehabilitation process as part of the multidisciplinary team. You will also handle unit-specific nursing tasks. Experience in the field of intensive special support is an advantage. Knowledge of autism work, psychosocial rehabilitation, and the development disability sector is valued. The qualification requirement is a Bachelor of Health Care (or equivalent) degree in nursing or a previous college-level degree, and licensure according to the Act on Health Care Professionals (559/94). The role requires vaccination against infectious diseases as per section 48 of the Infectious Diseases Act, and a health statement regarding respiratory tuberculosis as per section 55. From January 1, 2025, any person working with disabled persons must present an acceptable criminal record extract before starting work if the employment exceeds three months (Supervision Act 741/2023, section 28).
