Job Description
Koivuluoto School is seeking a TEMPORARY SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER for the period from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. Welcome to Raahe! Raahe is the second largest city in North Ostrobothnia, with a history rooted in the age of sailing ships and storytelling culture. We are known for our archipelago and sea, located nearby. Our school is a primary school with approximately 280 students, operating at two locations: Ollinsaaari and Kampus. Koivuluoto School offers general education classes, as well as special classes (E1-2, E3-4), small groups for basic education, and preparatory classes. Our professional and straightforward staff implement functional and modern basic education. Our motto is movement and health in students' daily lives. Job Description We are seeking a special education teacher for the Ollinsaaari unit at Koivuluoto School. The role involves implementing special education in accordance with the support reform, with the special education teacher responsible for group- and student-specific support measures. Qualifications The position requires a qualification as a special education teacher, familiarity with the support reform, flexibility, and good cooperation skills. Eligibility Eligibility requirements are based on the decree on the qualifications of teaching staff (986/1998). If qualified applicants are not available, the temporary position may also be filled by a person without the required degree. Original certificates proving eligibility must be presented during the interview. Employment Terms Salary and working conditions are governed by the Local Government Collective Agreement for Education Personnel (OVTES). The basic salary for teachers in Raahe exceeds the salary table according to OVTES. The selected candidate must, within 30 days of receiving the employment decision, present a satisfactory health certificate and a criminal record extract related to working with children, issued within the last six months. We use a trial period for temporary employment, which is at most half of the employment duration.
