Job Description
AFRY is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to be the Head of Electrical Engineering for client projects in the Industry Division. The role involves shaping the electrical competence of AFRY Netherlands, working in a small entrepreneurial team, and being involved in industrial projects with significant impact in the Netherlands and Belgium. Responsibilities include representing the electrical discipline, leading engineering activities across all project phases, developing complex documentation such as electrical calculations, specifications for HV/LV equipment, and ATEX documentation, overseeing engineering results with a focus on quality, compliance, and cost, conducting site visits, inspections, factory acceptance tests, and supporting commissioning activities. The role requires close collaboration with colleagues in mechanical systems, processes, automation, and project management across Europe.

Responsibilities
- Represent the electrical discipline for the Dutch industrial team
- Act as the primary contact for all electrical topics
- Lead engineering work in all project phases: feasibility study, concept & basic engineering, detail engineering, installation supervision, commissioning & handover
- Develop and review complex documentation including electrical calculations, specifications for HV/LV equipment, and ATEX documentation
- Supervise engineering results focusing on quality, compliance, cost, and schedule
- Conduct site visits, inspections, factory acceptance tests, and support commissioning activities
Requirements
- Fluent Dutch (spoken and written)
- Excellent command of English
- Bachelor or master degree in electrical engineering
- Relevant experience in industrial electrical engineering, preferably in process industry and engineering consulting
- Knowledge of Dutch regulations and industry standards
- Ability to work independently and lead multidisciplinary teams
