Pattasten School is seeking a full-time craft and soft materials teacher for a fixed-term position from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. Job Description The primary role of the full-time craft and soft materials teacher involves teaching grades 3-9. We appreciate expertise in craft subject content, pedagogical skills supporting subject goals, and versatile assessment skills. The position also includes music teaching for lower grades. Qualifications Successful performance in the role requires formal qualifications, enthusiasm for developing our school’s culture, and the ability to plan collaboratively with another craft teacher. Experience in craft teaching and readiness for multi-material craft instruction are considered advantages. Qualifications Requirements Qualifications are based on the decree on qualifications for teaching staff (986/1998). If qualified applicants are not available, the position may be filled by a person without the required degree. Original certificates proving qualifications must be presented during the interview. Employment Terms Salary and working conditions are governed by the Local Government Collective Agreement for Education Personnel (OVTES). The basic salary for teachers in Raahe exceeds the salary scale in OVTES. The selected candidate must provide a health certificate and a criminal record extract related to working with children, not older than six months, within 30 days of the appointment. A trial period of up to half the employment duration is used for fixed-term positions.
