We are hiring for two temporary positions as Mathematics Teachers at Harjuniitty School in Nokia (vacancy numbers 26320121 and 26320135) for the period from August 3, 2026, to June 5, 2027. Subjects taught include mathematics, chemistry, and physics. WHAT IS HARJUNIITYN SCHOOL? Founded in 2015, Harjuniitty School is a comprehensive school with approximately 930 students, located on the western side of Nokia in a scenic hill area. It is easily accessible by bus or car from further away. In addition to general education, the school offers specialized instruction in the LUMA class (grades 7-9). A community coordinator works permanently at the school to support students. Our values are respectful interaction and a healthy, safe working community. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Your main responsibility will be teaching mathematics, chemistry, and physics to older students. You will collaborate with other teachers and teaching assistants to ensure each student receives the support they need. Therefore, we value teamwork skills and experience in teaching mathematical subjects. Familiarity with digital learning environments in modern open learning settings is considered an advantage. In addition to expertise and experience in mathematical subjects, we seek a person who is solution-oriented, development-minded, and sees opportunities around them. You should be willing to share your knowledge with others. Openness to co-teaching and/or parallel teaching is also appreciated. WHAT WE OFFER At Harjuniitty, you will be part of a large community. The city operates in accordance with the UNICEF Child-Friendly City model. QUALIFICATIONS AND SALARY Qualifications are based on the decree on the qualifications of education personnel (No. 986/98). Salary is determined according to Ovtes and the city of Nokia’s TVA scale, which considers job complexity. Before starting, the selected candidate must present a criminal background check for working with children, as required by law (504/2002). Further instructions will be provided upon selection.
