Job Description
Would you like to help build a new kind of bilingual youth work in schools and educational institutions in Kirkkonummi? We are looking for an enthusiastic and development-oriented school youth worker for a fixed-term project starting from August 24, 2026, or according to agreement until August 4, 2028. The Lyyra Education House has been granted state funding for 2026-2028 to develop youth work in schools and educational institutions. In this role, you will have the opportunity to create new operational models and strengthen youth participation, community, and well-being at Sivistyksen talo Lyyra. Sivistyksen talo Lyyra is Kirkkonummi’s new bilingual environment for learning and growth, hosting Porkkala High School, Kyrkslätts Gymnasium, as well as Kirkkonummi Music Institute, Adult Education Center, and Art School. The position offers a unique opportunity to build and establish community-based school and educational youth work as part of young people’s daily lives. The role is part of the targeted youth work team within Kirkkonummi’s youth and sports services. You will join a competent, development-minded, and collaborative work community. Key responsibilities: As a school youth worker, you will serve as a safe and approachable adult in the daily lives of young people. You will plan, implement, and develop community-based youth work at Sivistyksen talo Lyyra. The work combines youth work in young people’s daily activities, development of operations, and close multidisciplinary collaboration. The role requires initiative, the ability to build cooperation among various actors, and a desire to develop activities together with young people. Your main tasks will include: - Planning, implementing, and developing community-based school and educational youth work at Sivistyksen talo Lyyra. - Organizing activities that strengthen youth participation, community, and well-being, such as break-time, group, and event activities, as well as implementing various thematic projects. - Engaging with young people, listening to them, and providing low-threshold support in their daily lives. - Collaborating with staff, student welfare services, youth services, and other professionals working with young people. - Evaluating, documenting, and reporting activities as part of development projects. - Participating in youth service activities during school holidays.
