Job Description

We are looking for a skilled project coordinator for a fixed-term employment to develop basic education swimming lessons. You will work on the "Swimming with Water Skills" project, which aims to promote swimming ability and water safety skills among primary school students. This is what you will do: The project worker's tasks include planning and implementing additional and support swimming lessons, especially for children and young people with weak swimming skills. Additionally, the role involves promoting students' water safety skills by organizing training and producing materials in collaboration with schools. The work also includes administrative tasks such as creating guidelines, developing a system for monitoring students' swimming skills, systematically tracking swimming proficiency, and monitoring and reporting on project goals and finances. The project coordinator will work closely with sports services and primary education staff. We offer an interesting and entirely new role where you can utilize your skills broadly, develop new swimming education models, and influence the well-being and safety skills of children and young people in Kerava. The position is versatile, involving both independent work and collaboration with children, young people, and various stakeholders. How to succeed in this role: The successful candidate must have a swimming instructor qualification and a suitable lower university degree. Special swimming instructor qualification and experience in administrative tasks are considered an advantage. Up-to-date first aid skills are required. You will succeed if you have solid experience in teaching swimming and are inspiring yet calm with children. Good oral and written skills in Finnish and English are required, along with an initiative-taking and development-oriented work attitude.
