We are hiring nurses for permanent positions in the anesthesia and surgical units at Meilahti Tower and Puisto hospitals. The start date is August 1, 2026, or according to agreement. Temporary replacements are also possible. Job duties include anesthesia or surgical nursing tasks as well as recovery room work. Surgical nurses act as instrument and monitoring nurses. Anesthesia nurses work in the operating room and recovery room. Meilahti Tower and Puisto hospitals' anesthesia and surgical units At the Tornisairaala surgical and anesthesia unit, we perform complex surgeries including gastrointestinal, vascular, cardiac, thoracic, oral, and maxillofacial surgeries. We handle all adult organ transplants nationally. Our surgical activities increasingly focus on emergency and acute cases. We have 19 operating rooms and a 22-bed recovery room. Additionally, we care for patients in two operating rooms at Siltasairaala. The work involves three-shift rotation, including on-call duties. At Puisto hospital, we perform surgeries in thoracic surgery, plastic surgery, vascular, oral and maxillofacial, and hand surgery. We also conduct vascular and dental procedures with anesthesia services. Most surgeries are daytime, but our recovery room is open until 8 PM. We have 11 operating rooms and an 18-bed recovery room. Previous experience in a surgical unit or clinical training in a surgical environment is required. You should prioritize patient safety in your work. The role requires precision, responsibility, and excellent communication and collaboration skills, which should be reflected in your communication style and friendly interaction within a multidisciplinary team. Qualifications: Licensed nurse. Language skills: Good spoken and satisfactory written Finnish, or good spoken and satisfactory written Swedish, or satisfactory spoken Swedish and good written Finnish. You must have vaccination against infectious diseases as required by the Infectious Diseases Act, and health status documentation regarding tuberculosis if working in customer and patient areas. Salary Salary is based on the SOTE agreement. The starting salary is €3,146.75/month. Possible experience and other allowances are also paid. Salary progresses with responsibility and competence.
