Practical Nurse, Short-term Unit Lastu, Jalasjärvi - Etelä-Pohjanmaan hyvinvointialue - Kurikka, Finland

We are seeking a practical nurse for a permanent position in a rehabilitative short-term unit in Jalasjärvi starting from September 1, 2026. The Short-term Unit Lastu is relocating from Jurva to Jalasjärvi in the fall. The unit offers around-the-clock rehabilitative short-term accommodation for 20 clients, who come for fixed-term periods; there is also one crisis place. Our work focuses on supporting and enhancing the functional capacity and well-being of the elderly, as well as active and meaningful daily life. Our activities are based on individual goals, where the client's resources, wishes, and life situation guide the work, promoting smooth daily routines, supporting family caregivers or relatives, and enabling living at home. You will join a multidisciplinary team where the client is at the center. The unit staff includes service home caregivers, practical nurses, nurses, and a rehabilitation nurse. We expect the applicant to have good professional skills, as well as strong cooperation and communication skills, and to be able to meet elderly people warmly and respectfully. We value a cheerful and motivated attitude, flexibility, good teamwork skills, and commitment to a rehabilitative, client-oriented approach. Previous experience working with the elderly, enthusiasm for developing your professional skills, the work community, and activities are appreciated. We also value interest in organizing and developing activities that promote social interaction (SKET) within the unit. The practical nurse's work involves three shifts, with a preference for night shifts. The qualification requirement is a basic degree in social and health care, a practical nurse (in accordance with law 559/1994 or 817/2015). Registration with the National Registry of Social and Health Care Professionals (Valvira) as a protected title professional is required. The selected candidate must have completed a medication permit. Good Finnish language skills, both spoken and written, are required. Terms of employment and salary are determined according to the applicable SOTE agreement, with a starting salary of 2627.08 euros/month. A trial period applies during the employment. A health certificate and a criminal background check in accordance with law 741/2023 § 28 must be presented before starting the position. A drug test may be required. HYVAEP is a smoke-free workplace. The position requires vaccination protection according to the Infectious Diseases Act § 48, a tuberculosis statement according to § 55, a health status report for salmonella infection, and a hygiene passport. Original copies of educational and employment certificates will be checked during possible interviews.
