Mathematics Teacher for KAO Kuusamo - Kajaanin kaupunki

We are seeking a mathematics teacher for the Kainuu Vocational College Kuusamo unit for a fixed-term position from August 1, 2023, to December 23, 2026. Your responsibilities include competency-based teaching and guidance in areas such as mathematics and its applications, physical and chemical phenomena and their applications, and working in a digital environment. Teaching will be conducted for secondary vocational students across various fields at the Kuusamo campus and remotely across the entire Kainuu Vocational College area. As a teacher, you will be part of a team of subject teachers. Our teaching and guidance work is planned and implemented collaboratively, so we value good teamwork skills across disciplines. We appreciate a proactive and developmental approach to utilizing diverse teaching methods and environments. We especially hope you are inspiring, encouraging, and respectful towards students of different backgrounds. You are expected to have proficient skills in basic ICT tools and online learning environments for teaching and guidance. Previous experience in teaching mathematical subjects is considered an advantage. Qualifications are based on the decree on qualifications for teaching staff (986/1998, amended 1150/2017) for vocational education. Priority will be given to employees of the City of Kainuu who are under notice of termination or layoff, or whose employment is temporarily interrupted, provided they meet the qualification requirements. Unqualified applicants may also be considered if no qualified candidate applies. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract issued within the last three months, as required by law 504/2002. A driver’s license is necessary for the position.
