Job Description

Are you interested in working in an environment where the child is at the center? Join our team at Portängens Daycare. We are looking for an engaged and flexible resource childcare assistant who will serve as an additional resource in the group, providing extra support where needed. Your team consists of two other childcare assistants and a teacher, and together you plan activities for the children. Portängens Daycare has five groups with children aged one to five. We are located in Mankans, a quiet area with forests, sports fields, ski trails, and parks within walking distance. We also have a large yard that allows for diverse outdoor activities. Indoors, we have a gymnasium, water play area, and a small kitchen where we bake with the children. We visit the forest weekly and the nearby libraries (Grankulla and Hagalund) monthly. The five-year-olds participate in a play and movement project and visit Esport Arena for guided movement sessions once a week. We also have a daycare assistant who helps with daily tasks. Our goal is to be a place where everyone wants to come, including children, parents, and staff. We plan activities based on the curriculum, with the child's interests at the center. It is important for us that children feel involved in both planning and executing activities. We also work to strengthen children's social skills through small group activities and the "I and We" tool. At Portängen, we treat everyone (children and staff) equally, respecting each other's strengths.
