Job Description

We are hiring a Student Guidance Lecturer for Laurentius School for the period from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. You will work in a team of student counselors, which includes three other counselors. As a student guidance lecturer, you will collaborate closely with subject teachers, class teachers, student welfare staff, and parents to support students. Your duties include: - Student guidance as a subject - Personal guidance, small group or group guidance - Activities in accordance with the curriculum - Providing group-specific support to students Laurentius School is an approximately 800-student comprehensive school located in the center of Lohja. The school staff includes about 100 educational professionals. The school has classes preparing primary and secondary school-aged students for basic education, as well as city-wide special classes (K-classes). The school's development focus is on increasing community spirit and well-being for both students and staff. A mentor teacher from our school will be appointed to assist you in your orientation and support you as a new member of our community. We have a well-functioning student welfare team with whom you will collaborate. The certificates should show the completed degree and qualifying studies (e.g., pedagogical studies 60 credits, multidisciplinary studies 60 credits, subject teacher qualifications 60/120 credits). Salary is determined according to OVTES. Teachers in basic education in Lohja receive a Lohja supplement of 146.55 euros. Student guidance counselors receive an additional TVA compensation of 266.34 euros. You may also be eligible for annual bonuses or other TVA compensations when working for the City of Lohja. The position is subject to a trial period, which is half the length of the employment contract. The selected candidate must present a health certificate from Keski-Uudenmaan Työterveys Oy, Lohja branch, within one month of starting employment. Additionally, a criminal background check as per law (504/2002) must be provided. Interviews will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 8:30 am in a group interview at Laurentius School.
