Thermal Solutions Engineer - Carbon13 - Remote - Global

Temperate is a deep-tech climate startup building a radiative cooling retrofit that reduces electricity consumption in refrigeration systems and HVAC. We’re at the point where validated technology needs to become real, installed, monitored pilots and we need a solutions engineer to own that journey end to end. You’ll be the technical bridge between our commercial team and our customers: supporting the sell once there’s a warm lead, understanding what’s needed on-site, translating that into product and integration requirements, and then leading the install and monitoring of pilots. You’ll also bring a design engineering sensibility to the product. You know from the experience of building physical products what it takes to make hardware work in the real world. You’ll work closely with Fergus (CTO) and be the person who makes sure our customers’ systems and our technology actually work together in the field. Responsibilities include technical pre-sales, customer requirements discovery, integration design & product requirements, design engineering input, installation, demo monitoring, and knowledge transfer. The ideal candidate has HVAC or thermal applications experience, a mechanical engineering degree, customer-facing technical ability, experience building physical products, site experience, leadership skills, and comfort with ambiguity. Nice-to-haves include familiarity with refrigeration variables, manufacturing experience, early-stage prototyping experience, and CAD skills. The role is based near Kidlington, Oxfordshire, with a minimum of 3 days/week on-site. Salary: £50,000–£60,000 per year. To apply, email hollie@temperate.uk with a note and CV.
