Night Caregiver for Developmentally Disabled Housing Services - Sylvia-koti yhdistys ry - Orimattila, Finland

Sylvia-koti yhdistys is a versatile social services provider for children, youth, and adults requiring special support. Our operations began in 1956, and currently we employ about 200 professionals across five units in Lahti, Hollola, and Orimattila. Our services include housing and employment activities for people with developmental disabilities, child protection, and Steiner pedagogical special school. In Orimattila, located in the idyllic Niinikoski village, is the Tapola unit, which offers housing, work, and activities for 50 adults needing special support. We are looking for a Night Caregiver for a fixed-term position (maternity leave replacement) from September 3, 2026, to July 21, 2027. In this role, you will be responsible for the safety and well-being of residents with developmental disabilities during the night. The work includes night supervision and household tasks. Applicants should have a relevant social and health care qualification or sufficiently advanced studies (e.g., 2/3 of practical training for practical nurses or 180 ECTS for social workers). The position requires medication rights and previous experience working with people with developmental disabilities. Additionally, we require vaccination against infectious diseases as per section 48 of the Infectious Diseases Act, a criminal record extract (for those working with the elderly and disabled), and a social and health care professional ID card. Please note that Tapola is not accessible by public transport, so a personal vehicle is necessary. As a medium-sized employer, our hierarchy is flat, and we listen to our staff.
