Welcome to work in a pleasant team with interesting tasks at the Substance Abuse Detoxification Unit! We are looking for a practical nurse for a permanent position who is enthusiastic about substance abuse nursing, proactive, and has good cooperation and interaction skills. Work starts on August 17, 2026, or as agreed. The task of the Substance Abuse Detoxification Unit is to implement institutional substance abuse detoxification treatment for adult patients from Vantaa and Kerava. The unit implements alcohol, drug, and narcotic detoxification treatments as well as ward initiation treatments for opioid substitution therapy. The treatment is 24-hour institutional detoxification treatment. Institutional detoxification treatment is implemented as a multidisciplinary team, and in your work, you will operate in close cooperation with a doctor, nursing colleagues, and a social worker. The responsibilities of the practical nurses of the Substance Abuse Detoxification Unit are the implementation of the unit's community and group treatment. In addition, the tasks include the implementation of patients' detoxification and other medication treatment, monitoring of withdrawal symptoms and condition, and acting as a primary nurse. Primary nursing includes primary nurse discussions with patients and planning of care after detoxification treatment in cooperation with the patient's outpatient care responsible nursing network. As a practical nurse, you will participate in the development of operations with a multidisciplinary working group and an experience expert. Interviews will be held during the week starting August 10. WE EXPECT AND VALUE: Experience in the nursing of substance-dependent patients and previous strong experience in the implementation of medication treatment is required. LOVe medication treatment training is required; if necessary, it can be completed within 4 months of starting the position. Genuine interest in substance abuse detoxification nursing and experience in the implementation of group and community treatment are considered an advantage.
