Welcome to join us as a permanent special education teacher at Aurora Daycare. Our daycare has six different groups for children aged 0-6 years. Your work will be with the Pihlajat group for 3-6-year-olds. Your colleagues include long-term and professional childcare workers, early childhood education teachers, and group assistants. We also collaborate across different child groups. Our community is built on strong teamwork and a shared spirit of doing things together. The activities are guided daily by the Espoo early childhood education plan and the national early childhood education plan. The role of a special education teacher in early childhood education is diverse and engaging. Together with other educational staff, you will plan, implement, evaluate, and develop early childhood education pedagogics for children requiring support. The goal is to promote children’s participation in group activities, foster success experiences, and enable inclusion within the child group. Observation, documentation, continuous assessment, and development are integral parts of the work. As a special education teacher, you will be responsible for the pedagogical implementation within your team, working with other professionals. You will also lead your team and serve as a pedagogical partner to the head of the early childhood education unit, allowing you to utilize your professional skills collaboratively with the entire community. Qualifications: Qualification according to the Finnish Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018). Qualification as an early childhood education teacher. Additionally, completed studies providing professional skills for special education tasks. or Master of Education with a major in special pedagogy (early childhood special education training). We also consider applicants who are about to graduate in early childhood special education. The role requires teamwork skills and good oral and written Finnish language proficiency. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as specified in the Criminal Records Act, section 6.2. The Infectious Diseases Act requires those working with preschool children to clarify the risk of tuberculosis transmission.
