Job Description
We are hiring a Special Class Teacher for the city of Imatra for a permanent position starting August 10, 2026. The position is initially located at Koski School Center, in a fourth-grade inclusion class. Koski School Center is a unified primary school with a focus on languages and internationalism. The school is situated right by the Vuoksi River, in a national landscape. A new main building was completed in summer 2021. We support co-teaching and positive pedagogy. We value positive encounters and interaction. We strongly support students' multiliteracy skills. The school has an operational school library. The qualification requirements are based on the decree (986/98) on the qualifications of education personnel; specifically, the qualification for a special class teacher. The selection will be based on the most meritorious candidate deemed suitable by interviews and other assessments. In the absence of qualified applicants, those without the qualification will also be considered. We hope applicants have experience in co-teaching and team teaching. We value good interaction skills, an independent work approach, and flexibility. Strong NEPSY skills are considered an advantage. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract related to working with children as per the law (504/2002) and a medical certificate of health. The terms of employment are based on OVTES. The base salary for a qualified special class teacher at Imatra city is €3,155.35–€3,425.95 per month.
