Job Description
Kraton is seeking a Reliability Engineer to strengthen technical expertise and long-term performance at the Oulu Nuottasaari production plant. The role is permanent and full-time, starting as per agreement, following the chemical industry’s collective agreement for senior technical staff. The position emphasizes technical risk management, analysis, and long-term development in a demanding and regulated chemical environment. As a Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for developing the reliability, safety, and lifecycle cost efficiency of critical mechanical systems (e.g., pressure vessels, pipelines, tanks, heat exchangers, pumps, mixers). You will support technical functions and participate in global networks, focusing on technical risk management, analysis, and development rather than operational maintenance. Key responsibilities include reliability development of mechanical equipment, risk assessment (RCM, FMEA, RBI, RCA), failure analysis, defining development measures, supporting investments, and participating in safety and compliance analyses. Kraton offers an international, responsible chemical industry environment, influence on safety and performance, collaboration with local and global experts, competitive salary and bonus, comprehensive benefits, and a safety-oriented, responsible, collaborative work community. Qualifications include a degree in engineering (mechanical, process, or energy), strong understanding of mechanical equipment in chemical processes, experience with reliability and lifecycle analysis methods, ability to view technical systems from business, safety, and risk perspectives, extensive experience in a production environment, analytical and systematic working style, and fluent Finnish and English skills. Knowledge of SAP and GE APM systems is a plus. Interested? Send your CV and application in PDF format by Sunday, May 10, 2026. External candidates will undergo health checks including drug testing. For more info, contact Jani Saarimaa at 040 341 3322.
