Job Description

Ymmerstan Daycare Center is a place where children can grow and learn in a safe and encouraging environment. If you are a social worker who wants to do meaningful work with children and families, join our team and help us provide the best possible care and education. Our daycare has 5 children's groups. You will work in a group of 1-3-year-olds. Our staff includes 8 early childhood education teachers and 5 early childhood educators. The daycare is located between Tuomarila and Kauniainen, centrally situated with good transportation links and surrounded by diverse sports and cultural services. As a social worker, you are responsible for implementing the activities of the children's group in collaboration with other professionals, especially from the perspectives of child well-being, participation, and resources. The role emphasizes core social work skills: cooperation with families in education, supporting social development of children, and strengthening early support for children and families from the perspective of family services. Observation, documentation, and continuous evaluation and development of activities are integral parts of your work. You will work alongside a group of early childhood education teachers and child caregivers. Workplace name and address: Ymmerstan Daycare Center, Ullantorppa 6, 02750 Espoo. Working hours: 38 hours 15 minutes/week. The position is temporary from August 3 to November 29, 2026. Qualifications: At least a degree in social services or health care, including at least 60 ECTS credits in early childhood education and social pedagogy, as specified by government regulation, or a social worker degree supplemented with these studies (540/2018 §27). The role requires good communication skills and organizational ability. Applicants must present a criminal record extract as required by the Criminal Records Act, section 6.2. The Infectious Diseases Act requires those working with preschool children to assess tuberculosis transmission risk. We value a positive attitude towards changing everyday situations.
