High School Foreign Languages Teacher (English as the subject) - Kirkkonummen kunta - Kirkkonummi, Finland

The core responsibility of the Foreign Languages Teacher at Porkkala High School is teaching English. We value pedagogical skills such as the ability to support diverse learners, digital pedagogy skills, and a variety of teaching methods. Good communication and collaboration skills, as well as the willingness and enthusiasm to participate in school activities beyond teaching, are also required. Porkkala High School is a general upper secondary school with approximately 600 students located in the center of Kirkkonummi. We will move in January 2027 to the new Sivistys House in Lyyra, together with the Swedish-speaking Kyrkslätt Gymnasium and Kirkkonummi Vocational Schools. Salary and employment terms are governed by the Municipal Sector Teachers’ Collective Agreement (OVTES). A four-month probationary period will be used for filling the position. Eligibility for the position is defined by the Decree on Qualifications for Teaching Staff (986/1998). The position has a six (6) month probation period. The selected candidate must provide a criminal record extract related to working with children, issued within the last 6 months, in accordance with the Act on Background Checks for Persons Working with Children (504/2002).
