Job Description

At IQM, we build world-leading quantum computers for the well-being of humankind. We design systems to tackle computational challenges beyond the practical limits of classical machines. Our work sits at the edge of science and engineering. It's complex, demanding, and deeply collaborative. We turn deep research into reliable, full-stack systems that drive discoveries in fields like medicine, energy, and technology, reshaping how the world computes. Join the team that gives quantum a heartbeat. As the Head of Commercial Partnerships, you will design and execute IQM’s global commercial partner strategy. Your primary mission is to expand our international market reach, drive bookings, and unlock multi-million dollar co-development and distribution opportunities. You will lead a high-performing global team managing a diverse, world-class ecosystem spanning sovereign governments, tier-1 system integrators, re-sellers, HPC centers, independent software vendors (ISVs), and cloud providers. This is a high-impact, deeply collaborative leadership role sitting at the intersection of deep-tech sales, complex system engineering, technology and international business diplomacy. Define and execute a multi-tiered global commercial partnership roadmap that accelerates IQM's market adoption across Europe, APAC, META and North America. Identify, source, and close high-value commercial agreements with strategic partners, including datacenters, industrial system integrators, and cloud hyperscalers. Work closely with public sector and regional partners to anchor IQM hardware into global High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructures and national quantum ecosystems. Partner with industrial enterprise clients and software vendors to establish commercial applications in fields like finance, security, quantum chemistry, material science, optimization, and energy. Own the governance, performance metrics, and long-term commercial growth of existing accounts, ensuring joint go-to-market initiatives deliver tangible pipeline impact. Act as the strategic bridge between external partners and internal IQM teams, working closely with Product, Tech, Tech Partnerships, Client Solutions, Legal, Finance, and Commercial Teams to ensure alignment on deliverables. Inspire, mentor, and scale a lean, geographically distributed team of partnership and alliance managers. We are looking for extensive experience in leading commercial partnerships, strategic alliances, or enterprise sales in deep-tech, high-performance computing (HPC), semiconductor infrastructure, or complex enterprise software. Proven experience negotiating and closing multi-million-dollar, cross-border commercial transactions with enterprise clients, research consortiums, or public sector entities. While a Ph.D. in quantum physics isn't required, you must possess a strong technical comprehension of full-stack hardware ecosystems and the ability to articulate quantum utility to business leaders. Experience navigating complex, high-stakes public tenders, government-backed innovation grants, and strategic international technology alliances is highly advantageous. Exceptional capability in structuring complex, multi-stakeholder joint ventures, intellectual property frameworks, and revenue-share models. Ready and eager to travel globally (up to 40%) to build deep, face-to-face relationships with international stakeholders. Why IQM? Full-stack quantum computing: From quantum hardware to software layers and beyond, we build across the full-stack. High-performance playground: We aim high, and we know sustainable performance only works when life outside work does too—hybrid setups, flexible hours. Never the smartest: Expect to learn constantly. You won't always be the smartest person in the room, and that's the point. Approachable leadership: Flat hierarchy, direct access. Feel free to approach any leaders. They're friendlier than they look! The sweet spot: Big enough to matter. Small enough to move fast. Growing between a startup and a corporation. We’re in the phase where top performers get noticed. Bigger than IQM: Our people build know-how for the entire quantum ecosystem. We publish papers, run hackathons, and help shape a market that's still being defined. The future of computing won’t build itself. You might be one of the few who do. Meet our people and learn more about IQM on our stories page. Explore our scientific publications. We'll start interviews and move forward with hiring as soon as we meet strong candidates. Please submit your application soon. 600M€+ Total Funding | 400+ Team Members | 30+ Quantum Computers Built | 300+ Patents Filed | 10 Location Globally
