Finnish Language Teacher - Ammattiopisto Lappia - Tornio, Finland

We are seeking a full-time Finnish language teacher for Ammattiopisto Lappi for integration training in Kemi and Tornio. The teacher's duties include tasks related to integration training. The employment begins according to agreement, by August 10, 2026, and is fixed-term until July 31, 2027. We require the applicant to: 1. Hold a higher university degree 2. Have completed basic and intermediate studies (60 credits) in one of the following fields: Finnish language, Finnish as a second and foreign language, Finno-Ugric language research (including applicable Finnish language studies), Finnish language and culture, or Finnish language 3. Have pedagogical studies for teachers (35 credits or 60 credits) 4. Have at least two (2) years of teaching experience in integration training or other adult immigrant education We expect enthusiasm for developing and bringing inspiring perspectives to the planning and implementation of training. You are a team player with good communication and interaction skills. Salary and employment terms are determined according to the current Municipal Education Personnel Collective Agreement (OVTES). The selected candidate must provide a document of suitability for working with minors, in accordance with law 504/2002, before accepting the position. The position will be subject to a four-month probation period. Finnish language and communication skills teachers may also work as assessors in the Immigrants' Initial Assessment Service, requiring over three years of experience in teaching Finnish language and communication skills to adult immigrants. Work, degree, and other certificates will be presented during a possible interview.
