City Environment Manager - Lapuan kaupunki - Lapua, Finland

We are looking for a City Environment Manager for the City of Lapua's Technical Department, City Environment Services. As City Environment Manager, your tasks include strategic planning and development of land use for the City of Lapua, planning and guiding zoning projects, and leading the expert organization. In this role, you will serve as a supervisor within the city environment services, responsible for the operations, finances, and targeted development of your area. The services under your responsibility include land use, zoning, and surveying services, as well as building control and environmental protection. You will work under the technical director and participate in the management team of the technical sector. The city council of Lapua guides the preparation of land use and zoning. The position requires a university degree suitable for the area of responsibility. We expect you to be a well-qualified professional in either the surveying or zoning field, with extensive experience in the services and legislation related to your area of responsibility, as well as leadership experience. We value good negotiation, cooperation, and customer service skills, problem-solving and stress tolerance, and a strong development mindset. The position will be filled starting August 1, 2026, or by agreement. A six (6) month probationary period applies. The selected candidate must provide a satisfactory health certificate before starting. Applicants may be required to participate in suitability tests. Employment terms are according to TS. The monthly salary for the position is €4,947.40. The role requires a driving license and the use of a personal car. Lapua is a smoke-free workplace.
