Etelä-Savon hyvinvointialue Eloisa is recruiting an anesthesiology and intensive care specialist at the middle hospital in Mikkeli for a permanent government service starting 1 October 2026 or by agreement. The work of a specialist with us is varied hospital work with good colleagues. The primary place of work is the surgical department of Mikkeli Hospital, but the job also includes work in the intensive care unit. Our hospital has anesthesia on-call 24/7. Savonlinna Hospital has daytime surgery that you may participate in. The operating department is fully new or renovated. We have ten operating rooms and handle about 5500 perioperative patients annually. Most surgeries are planned. We also have around-the-clock on-call. Over 40% of patients are day surgeries. In the operating department we are at the forefront of development; we have robot-assisted joint replacements, obesity surgeries and harm-to-surgery operations. As an employer, Eloisa is committed to training and enables participation in external trainings. We encourage doctors to continually develop their professional competence and doctors have the opportunity to participate in both national and international training. Our pay is at the top of the country’s scale; Specialist with 10 years of specialist training earns 8867.13 €/mo - 9269.63 €/mo; Specialist with less than 10 years earns 8464.63 €/mo. In addition to the job salary there are personal and local collective agreement allowances. We offer staff a welfare benefit worth 200 € to be used for exercise, culture or wellbeing services. Working hours follow the physician agreement and are 38.25 h/week. Part-time work can also be agreed. Qualification requires the right to practice general medicine as a legally licensed professional (Act on Health Care Professionals 559/94 §4) and anesthesia and intensive care specialization. Also required is proficient spoken and written Finnish for the job. In addition, vaccination protection under the Infectious Diseases Act §48 and health statement under §55 regarding respiratory tuberculosis are required.
