We are looking for a temporary social counselor for the period from August 3, 2026, to January 31, 2027, at the memory care unit Kartanonhovi. The work hours will be divided among three different units. Kustaankartano Senior Center is the largest of Helsinki's SOTEPE senior centers, with ten locations across Helsinki. Clients live in long-term group homes, and we also offer assessment and rehabilitation periods, short-term care, and day and service center activities. Responsibilities include supporting clients' independent daily life, managing their housing process, planning and implementing group and community activities, working closely with a multidisciplinary team, placement and assessment activities, advocates, relatives, and volunteers, as well as social and service guidance, including financial issues and benefit applications. We expect you to have a desire to work close to clients, a presence-oriented approach, excellent communication and teamwork skills, enthusiasm for developing community support methods, the ability to plan and prioritize your work autonomously, and a willingness to bring your expertise into the team. Eligibility: A relevant higher education degree in social work, gerontology, or rehabilitation counseling, valid registration with the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (Valvira), good oral and satisfactory written Finnish language skills, vaccination against infectious diseases as per the Communicable Diseases Act, and a criminal record certificate as required by law. Experience working with the elderly and proficiency with the Apotti patient information system are considered an advantage.
