Job Description

We are looking for a cheerful and eager early childhood education teacher interested in positive pedagogy for a permanent position at Tahiniemi Daycare, starting from September 1, 2026, or as agreed. The teacher will be assigned to the reduced group of 3-5-year-olds, Kaislat, which is the initial placement for the position. We expect from you: As an early childhood education teacher, you will plan, implement, evaluate, and develop your pedagogical activities for your child group with the support of the entire team; You will build the activity culture and learning environment of your child group according to the needs and goals of the children; You want to develop and learn in your work; Your approach to work is active and committed; You have good interaction and teamwork skills; Knowledge and experience in special early childhood education are considered an advantage. You must have a qualification in accordance with the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) or, under transitional provisions (Section 75), a Bachelor's degree in Education, a suitable university of applied sciences degree, or an equivalent previous qualification, e.g., a kindergarten teacher or social educator degree (Act 272/2005 and Regulation No. 608/2005). The terms of employment are governed by the Municipal Education Personnel Collective Agreement (OVTES). Salary: €3,113.45 (including the August general increase). An additional €15.38/month is paid for those with a qualification meeting the early childhood education requirements. A master's degree in education adds €38.83/month, plus €150/month personal allowance. Experience-based salary supplement is 3-8%. Additionally, good oral and written skills in Finnish are required. The selected person must present a valid criminal background check for working with children (504/2002). The position may be filled temporarily with unqualified applicants, with salary according to KVTES, amounting to €2,935.15/month. Pieksämäki city is a smoke-free workplace. Original diplomas and employment certificates will be checked during possible interviews.
