The Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Tampere University invites applications for a university lecturer position in mechatronics in the Department of Automation and Mechanical Engineering. The tasks focus on university-level teaching of mechatronics components and systems design, sizing, implementation and lifecycle management, with emphasis also on aircraft and aircraft-related systems. The successful candidate will teach at Tampere University’s Hervanta campus as part of the mechatronics teaching community. The role includes developing teaching materials and laboratory exercises, supervising projects and theses, and conducting research in mechatronics. We value practical experience in multi-technology machine systems, ability to produce teaching materials, and capacity to teach in Finnish and English. The position requires a degree as a Master of Science in Engineering or a Doctor of Technology in a relevant field, and good teaching skills. Applicants should have strong organizational and collaboration skills. The appointment requires university pedagogy studies (at least 10 ECTS) or equivalent; if not completed at the start of employment, studies must be completed within two years. The salary follows the university salary system and is based on the job complexity and performance. The position is initially filled for a fixed term starting 1 October 2026 with a six-month trial period.
