Social Worker

We are seeking a social worker for a fixed-term assignment in open child protection services in Lappeenranta. The position is in the Lastensuojelun avopalvelut unit within Etelä-Karjala's wellbeing services. The social worker will work in a systemic team with social workers, social welfare professionals and family therapists, participate in finding solutions with clients and their networks, and act as the child’s caseworker with planning and coordinating protection work. The role includes decision-making about services and monitoring their implementation, as well as on-call duties during office hours. We value proactive, client-oriented approaches and good collaboration and communication skills. Experience in child protection is advantageous. We offer support from a supervisor and colleagues, supervision and multidisciplinary collaboration. The employee must have the qualification of a social worker under the Social Welfare Act and license registration; if no eligible applicants are found, the position may be filled by a student or someone with a suitable higher education degree and necessary studies and practical experience. A valid driving license is required. The two-month trial period applies. Salary and other terms follow the SOTE agreement. The position starts 31.8.2026 or per contract. Location is Lasten ja nuorten talo, Lappeenranta; the service area covers the whole South Karelia.
