Social Counselor, Substance Abuse Services, Turku - Varsinais-Suomen hyvinvointialue - Turku, Finland

Your tasks As a social counselor, you will work in the Turku mental health and substance abuse services unit with working-age clients. Your main focus is to strengthen clients' functional capacity, daily life management, and participation, as well as promote well-being through multidisciplinary collaboration. You will be responsible for guiding and advising clients, as well as planning client work together with the client, their relatives, and various authorities. You will work closely with social workers and coordinate the client's service package. You will support clients in applying for benefits, housing, finances, rehabilitation, and related services. The work includes individual guidance, networking, and multidisciplinary cooperation with social and health care providers. You will also work client-oriented through home visits and outreach to other services when necessary. The role emphasizes a service-oriented approach and the ability to meet mental health and substance abuse clients holistically. Through social guidance, the aim is to prevent the deepening of clients' service needs and support their everyday coping before more intensive services are required. This is a permanent position requiring a responsible approach and professional commitment. Client situations are often complex and require professional courage and good interaction skills. What we expect from you The qualification requirement is a Bachelor of Social Services (Sosionomi AMK). Language skills required are good oral and written Finnish, and satisfactory oral and written Swedish. You have experience in mental health and substance abuse work and are capable of independent and planned work. You work naturally with different actors and can flexibly respond to changing client situations. You treat clients respectfully and holistically, utilizing a service-oriented approach.
