Job Description
We are looking for a Lead BMS & PDU Engineer to take overall responsibility for the development of the battery management system (Battery Management System, BMS) and power distribution system (Power Distribution Unit, PDU) for our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The role combines electronic design, embedded software development, software interfaces, and system integration. BMS and PDU are key components of the energy storage system, directly related to battery safety, protection, diagnostics, data quality, system control, and long-term maintainability. What the role involves - Responsible for the technical development of BMS and PDU solutions in energy storage systems (BESS). - Design electronics at the circuit board level for battery management, protection, and power distribution needs. - Develop embedded software for monitoring, diagnostics, control, and safety-critical functions. - Define and implement software interfaces between BMS/PDU systems and other BESS control systems. - Participate in system integration, testing, validation, and ensuring production readiness. - Collaborate closely with experts in electrical, software, mechanical, and systems design. - Support productization, supplier cooperation, and long-term platform development. What we expect from you - Suitable university degree in electrical engineering, electronics, embedded systems, automation, or a related field. - Experience in circuit board design (PCB), embedded software development, or industrial electronics. - Understanding of battery systems, BMS and PDU solutions, protection or measurement systems. - Experience with data communication interfaces, diagnostics, testing, and system integration. - Practical and solution-oriented approach suitable for a growth company environment. - Ability to take full responsibility for the technical area from concept to finished product. - Fluent in Finnish and English.
