Job Description
Your tasks You work as a psychological expert in a multidisciplinary team in demanding disability services. The team includes a doctor, speech therapist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, neuropsychiatric counselor, music therapist, and social worker. Your duties include psychological assessments, examinations, and reports, as well as planning and monitoring rehabilitation. You will conduct support discussions with clients and their relatives, and provide guidance and advice to the networks surrounding the client. The role also involves tasks related to self-determination and restrictive measures, and you are part of multidisciplinary teams within units concerning these issues in disability services. Additionally, you participate in planning and lecturing at continuing education for professionals in the field. The Expert and Development Center serves all of Swedish-speaking Finland, which may involve travel. A company car is available. The center is located in the scenic Kirjala in Pargas. The activities include expert services, an 11-bed crisis, research, and rehabilitation unit, and a 7-bed special support housing unit called Kojan. Clients come from the entire Swedish-speaking area of Finland, and you will also collaborate with Finnish-speaking colleagues in similar activities in Paimio. The workspaces are relatively new, completed in 2019. The area has good bus connections and a large free parking area. What we offer you We offer a meaningful and diverse expert role in your field. We provide opportunities for further training and supervision, and the team fosters good cooperation. What we expect from you Proficiency in both Swedish and Finnish is required. You must be able to express yourself fluently in Swedish both orally and in writing. Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, neuropsychiatric disorders, and psychiatric challenges, as well as experience working in multidisciplinary teams and willingness to travel within the Swedish-speaking area in Finland, are considered advantages. A qualification as a licensed psychologist according to the law on healthcare professionals is required.
