Postdoctoral researcher, Zoonotic viruses - University of Helsinki - Helsinki, Finland

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Helsinki invites applications for a Postdoctoral researcher position focusing on zoonotic viruses. The role involves research at the Faculty of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine in Helsinki, Finland, with international visits mainly at the Taita Research Station in Kenya. The research group studies zoonotic viruses transmitted by mosquitoes, ticks, rodents, and birds. The appointee will perform research, supervise students, and participate in teaching, which may constitute 10-20% of the annual work time. The position is initially for two years with a possibility of extension, starting as soon as possible after recruitment. The work cannot start remotely, and the position includes a 6-month probation period. The salary is approximately 3700–4100 € gross per month, based on qualifications and experience. Requirements include a PhD in a relevant field, experience in microbiology, epidemiology, bioinformatics, and fluent English communication skills.
