Automation Technician

As an automation technician you will be responsible for the maintenance and development of the building automation across a broad and diverse real estate portfolio. The role offers the opportunity to work with modern automation systems and to influence the energy efficiency and functional use of the city’s buildings. The eligibility requirement for the position is technical vocational education and at least two years of experience in property maintenance tasks, as well as a valid B-driver’s license. The job requires good communication skills and proficient Finnish language proficiency, both written and spoken. Experience with remote monitoring, monitoring operations, and the use of building automation systems (Caverion, Fidelix and Schneider Electric building automation systems) is desired. An electrical or automation vocational qualification is advantageous, as is experience with automation installations. The assessment of applicants will include practical questions and a short task during the interview. Conditions of employment and pay are determined in accordance with the Municipal Technical Personnel Collective Agreement: standard monthly pay of 2,557.77 EUR. In addition you will receive a professional allowance (4% or 8% of the base pay) if qualification criteria are met. A personal performance-based allowance (1–30%) after 12 months of service is also possible. In the municipal sector there are long annual leaves and vacation days, with five working days per week. The length of annual leave varies based on work history, between 23 and 38 days. The position will be filled from 2 November 2026 or by agreement. A six-month probation period applies.
