The municipality of Punkalaidun is seeking a youth worker for a permanent position starting from 1.9.2026 or by agreement. The work involves 50% outreach youth work and 50% youth center activities. Are you a passionate youth professional committed to supporting the growth, independence, and community engagement of children and young people in Punkalaidun? Your responsibilities include planning and implementing youth center activities, conducting outreach and preventive youth work, organizing and developing leisure activities and holiday programs. Your work promotes the overall well-being of young people. Our main partners are schools, associations, and other service units within leisure services. Outreach youth work involves identifying and supporting young people who have dropped out or are at risk of dropping out of education and employment, and helping them access necessary services. The work includes individual and small group guidance. The qualification requirement is a higher education degree in youth and leisure sector or other relevant education. Success in the role requires good collaboration skills, an outgoing and independent work approach, and the ability to meet children and young people in different life situations. Experience working with children and youth is considered an advantage. A driver’s license and access to a car are essential. Salary is based on KVTES collective agreement. The working hours are regular hours, totaling 38 hours and 15 minutes per week. Please note that evening and weekend work is also required. The selected candidate must provide an acceptable criminal record extract (Act 504/2002 on the background check of persons working with children). Punkalaidun is a smoke-free workplace. A six-month probationary period applies to the position.
