Technical Drafter

We are Helsinki Shipyard, a world leader in building ships for the world’s toughest waters. We design and build icebreakers, coast guard and naval vessels, cruise ships, yachts, and other specialized vessels for government and commercial customers around the world. Today, we are a team of more than 600 people, and we are growing rapidly. We are looking for a Technical Drafter to join our hull structure design team. Our main responsibility is creating and developing structural 2D drawings using AutoCAD. You will work with templates and technical specifications, selecting solutions based on classification rules and structural requirements. You will work on several ship projects from early design to completion. Prior shipbuilding experience is an advantage but not required; you will learn about ship design and classification requirements. You will work both independently and as part of the hull design team. To succeed, you need a technical/engineering background, 2D drawing experience, AutoCAD proficiency, attention to detail, and good English. Knowledge of Classification Society Rules or ship design is a plus. We offer direct shipyard work with opportunities to see projects from design to completion.
