Experienced Hydropower Engineer: Dams, Electromechanical, Hydromechanical - AFRY Finland - Remote - Global

As part of our hydropower team, you will work on a broad range of tasks including dam assessment and design of electromechanical components such as turbines, generators, pumps, and other electromechanical installations, or assessment and design of hydromechanical parts such as sluices, pipelines, and valves. The role may include project leadership or discipline leadership, support with tender work, and strategic tasks. Daily work involves technical design, interdisciplinary collaboration, client and supplier communication, technical meetings, site visits, and project follow-up. Some travel is expected. Candidates should have solid expertise in hydropower, specifically related to dam structures, electromechanics, or hydromechanics. Good problem-solving skills, flexibility, motivation, teamwork, and initiative are essential. Formal requirements include higher education (MSc or BSc) in relevant fields, experience in hydropower projects, proficiency in Norwegian and English, and NVE certification for hydromechanical or dam engineering. Experience with Norwegian regulations and consulting background are advantageous.
