Job Description
Aktia is a Finnish wealth manager, bank, and life insurer that has created wealth and well-being across generations for over 200 years. Aktia Life Insurance Ltd is a subsidiary of the Aktia Group responsible for providing customer-friendly life insurance solutions. The company has about 100,000 private and corporate customers and several partners in the financial sector. We are now looking for a leader to build and lead a more business-driven actuarial unit. The role involves integrating the actuarial unit into core business, transforming data and analytics into decision-making insights, and leading change in methods, technology, and thinking. The key responsibilities include leading a team of 6 actuaries, developing strategies, models, assumptions, and analytics, and collaborating with top management. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in life insurance, SHV certification, leadership skills, and fluency in Finnish, Swedish, and English. Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of 6 actuaries, build expertise and a culture of success
- Define and implement the strategy of the actuarial unit as part of the business
- Develop and modernize models, assumptions, and analytics to support profitable growth and risk management
- Act as a sparring partner to top management and provide actuarial insights for strategic decisions
- Produce and communicate key financial and actuarial analyses effectively
- Lead the development of actuarial tools and IT solutions, including automation, programming, and data utilization
Requirements
