Work Life Professor, Growth and Commercialization - Tampereen yliopisto - Tampere, Finland

The Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences form Finland's second largest multidisciplinary, inspiring, and impactful research and learning community. Our core expertise areas are technology, health, and society. We are seeking a part-time and full-time Work Life Professor starting from November 1, 2026, or as agreed. The role aims to strengthen the growth, commercialization, and customer-oriented value creation of Finnish companies through teaching, research, and collaboration with industry. The candidate should have extensive understanding of marketing, customer-driven business, and related commercialization and growth issues, combining practical business experience, research thinking, and effective cooperation with companies. The position addresses Finland's key economic challenge: slow growth, cautious market behavior, and the need for increased productivity, investment, and internationalization. The role is based in the Faculty of Management and Business at Tampere University, within the Department of Business Studies, focusing on areas like industrial sales, value-creating risk management, and experiential economy. Responsibilities include designing and implementing teaching on growth, commercialization, and customer-driven business, advancing research in growth strategies, customer value creation, marketing, and business models, developing work-based pedagogical solutions, strengthening student work readiness, and building networks with companies and stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a doctoral degree or equivalent high-level expertise, significant achievements in industry, public, or third sector roles, extensive business experience, excellent Finnish and English skills, and strong presentation skills. Experience in strategic marketing management and international collaboration is advantageous. The appointment is for three years, starting November 1, 2026, with a 40% part-time option. The salary starts at approximately 6,500 euros/month for full-time. The role offers flexible working, campus restaurants, and cultural and sports support.
