Family Counselor Substitute, Preventive Family Work, Turku - Varsinais-Suomen hyvinvointialue - Turku, Finland

In this substitute position, you will engage in preventive family work in Turku and systematically strengthen families' own resources. We are seeking a family counselor for a temporary position starting as soon as possible until August 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension. The role involves preventive family work focusing on early support, low-threshold services, and enhancing daily life for families. Your tasks As a family counselor, you will work within centralized family center services in Turku, part of a team providing preventive family work delivered to families' homes. The team includes a lead social worker and four family counselors. Your work will be mobile, primarily conducted at families' homes, but also in other environments and networks. Workspaces are available at Kunnallissairaalantie 20, Mäntymäki area, Turku. Most client work involves home visits. Your responsibilities include supporting parenting and daily coping with children, families, and cooperation partners, documenting client work, preparing decisions, and participating in multidisciplinary network collaboration. The work is independent, diverse, and variable, requiring good planning, organization, and boundary-setting skills. The position is subject to a trial period. The qualification requirement is a social worker license in accordance with the Act on Qualifications of Social Welfare Professionals (272/2005). Proficiency in Finnish is required. Interested?
