Job Description

As a mechanical designer, you will be involved in developing responsible device solutions and design processes for Europress's waste management and circular economy solutions from the ground up. The role is central to product development and ensuring smooth production. Your tasks include designing device solutions and drawings using 3D software, handling production product configurations/work orders, and managing product data (PDM, PLM). Producing and maintaining design data is an essential part of your work. Additionally, you will actively participate in continuous improvement projects and tasks, helping to advance the design team and operations. You will work closely with a team of about nine colleagues in a relaxed and collaborative environment. Your workdays will mainly be at the Kerava office, but you may also visit clients for measurements. Due to the location, a driving license and personal car are practically essential. This role is well-suited for someone with experience in 3D mechanical design in similar roles. You will receive comprehensive onboarding, and support from the team will be available throughout. Responsibilities include participating actively in daily device design, development of device solutions, and product data management, creating device solutions and drawings with 3D software, engaging in continuous improvement tasks, handling production product configurations/work orders, maintaining and managing product data in a PLM system, collaborating with the design team and production. We are looking for education: suitable educational background, university of applied sciences/university (e.g., mechanical engineering or mechanical design). 3D Design: Work experience and proficiency with some 3D design software. Europress uses AutoDesk Inventor 3D and Vault, but other software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) are also suitable. Product Data Management: Basic knowledge of a product data management system (PDM / PLM). Europress uses Sovelia-PLM. Language skills: Fluent Finnish and English; Swedish skills are a plus. Mobility: Driving license and personal car (due to office location). Preferred qualifications: Previous experience in technical design. AutoCAD skills. Additional information: Start: Estimated August-September 2026 / negotiable. Working hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Duration: Fixed-term until February 2027 with Academic Work, with the goal of permanent employment at Europress afterward. Location: Huhtimontie 16, Kerava. The work is primarily office-based in a collaborative environment.
