Job Description
Jokimaa is a versatile horse racing and event center that hosts thousands of visitors annually to enjoy horse racing and other events, with or without horses. Our area hosts events ranging from small family celebrations to outdoor festivals with thousands of participants. Every year, Jokimaa hosts over 30 different horse racing events, with the highlight being the Suur-Hollola race in June. The race weekend, from Friday to Sunday, begins with a celebration of elegant hats at Lahti Ascot and culminates in the Suur-Hollola race, featuring the most prominent Finnish-born harness racers. Our horse racing events attract approximately 35,000 spectators annually. The races are also broadcast on television and online. For example, VeikkausTV produces over 100 hours of live streaming from our races each year. The anniversary year of the Suur-Hollola race is here! Celebrating 50 years of Finnish harness racing tradition – three days full of atmosphere, style, and excitement! The first Suur-Hollola race was held in 1975. Since 1978, the race has been exclusive to Finnish-born harness horses. With nearly 50 years of history, the race has seen many legendary winners. As Finland’s largest breeder competition, it is one of the highlights of the racing season. We are seeking energetic restaurant workers for the Suur-Hollola event to create an unforgettable experience for summer 2026! Positions available include sales, serving, cooking, and supervisory roles. The event will take place from July 3rd to 5th, 2026. As a restaurant worker, you are a vital part of the event’s rhythm – responsible for customer service, serving, taking orders, and maintaining overall comfort. You ensure that customers receive smooth and cheerful service from start to finish. Previous experience in the restaurant industry is preferred. Skills in cash handling, hygiene, and alcohol service licenses are advantageous, but the right attitude is key. Your work tasks will be based on your skills. We offer you the opportunity to be part of the most anticipated event of the summer, gain valuable work experience, and work in a great team. Salary will be agreed upon based on your skills, according to the collective agreement for travel, restaurant, and leisure services. Why apply through Amiko? Amiko offers a wide range of jobs for all levels of restaurant professionals. We are a fair, reliable, and flexible partner in working life. Amiko has a good reputation in the labor market. We always strive to find the best solutions to support your employment. As an Amiko employee, you will receive: * At least the salary according to the collective agreement – our pay system is motivating, sometimes even higher than direct employment with a company. * A wide variety of job opportunities – with extensive networks and a broad selection of part-time, full-time, and seasonal jobs across various fields. When a suitable job is found, many employees have the opportunity to transition to permanent employment with the client company. * Personal contact person and tailored job search – Amiko provides personal service and a dedicated contact person you can communicate with directly. * Comprehensive occupational health services, standard pension accrual, and sick pay in case of illness – even though you work at a client company, you are an Amiko employee, and we take responsibility for your benefits. * Or perhaps something entirely new for your career? We also assist with career changes. Customized career coaching helps update your skills and find a new direction.
