Job Description
The Centralized Services line at HUS is opening a physiotherapist position, primarily responsible for working as a physiotherapist on geropsychiatric inpatient wards. When needed, the physiotherapist will also respond to requests from the centralized services line. The basic qualification required is a physiotherapy degree and experience in psychiatry. The work location is at the Psychiatry Center in Helsinki and from May 2027 onwards at Laakso Joint Hospital in Helsinki. The physiotherapist's work involves assessing, guiding, and rehabilitating patients' functional capacity using evidence-based physiotherapeutic methods. The physiotherapist's duties include individual physiotherapy, group rehabilitation, movement guidance, assessment and use of assistive devices. Identifying patients at risk of falling and planning and implementing preventive measures as part of multidisciplinary collaboration is a key part of the role. Additionally, the work includes planning patient discharges and consulting staff in a rehabilitative approach. The Centralized Services line has a friendly and enthusiastic work environment, as reflected in the annual HUS staff survey and nurse engagement surveys. We are proud of our work and work units. Qualifications for the position: Licensed physiotherapist. Work experience in psychiatry is required, and experience working with the elderly is preferred. We require vaccination against infectious diseases in customer and patient facilities, and health status verification for tuberculosis for those working in healthcare units. Language skills required are good spoken and written Finnish, and satisfactory spoken and written Swedish, or good spoken and written Swedish and satisfactory spoken and written Finnish.
