Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with an interest in structural biology, molecular mechanisms of cell motility, host-pathogen interactions, and motor protein function. The position is fixed-term for 4 years starting from 1.9.2026, with a salary of approximately 2600-3200 € per month before taxes. The role involves understanding malaria parasite gliding motility and the molecular machinery behind it, using structural biology and biochemical/biophysical approaches including X-ray crystallography, cryo-EM, and protein interaction/functional assays. The candidate should have a Master's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field, experience in recombinant protein production, and fluency in English. Assets include experience with structural biology methods, computational analysis, molecular modelling, biophysical characterization, and eukaryotic cell culture. The position is in Oulu, Finland, within the Faculty of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine, Protein and Structural Biology. The application deadline is 10.7.2026.
