Job Description
Sylvia-koti yhdistys ry is a versatile social services provider for children, youth, and adults in need of special support. Our operations began in 1956, and we currently operate with approximately 160 professionals across five different units in the Lahti, Hollola, and Orimattila regions. Sylvia-koti's housing services are for adults with intellectual disabilities. In Sylvia-koti's group homes, our work is guided by the values of genuine encounter and appreciation of clients, as well as the principles of sustainable development. We are seeking for Sylvia-koti's intellectual disability housing services: INSTRUCTOR for a permanent employment contract Are you looking for a warm-hearted work community? Your task will be to guide our residents in all situations related to life management. The job also includes home care tasks, which are performed through guidance together with the residents. In your work, you will primarily need the skill to meet people with respect and a genuine desire to understand the uniqueness of life. We offer you a warm welcome, good orientation, and fantastic clients. Our unit is located in a beautiful, garden-like environment in Renkomäki with good transport links. We require a degree in social and health care (e.g., practical nurse / social worker) and experience in working with people with intellectual disabilities. Additionally, we require vaccine protection according to §48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a criminal record extract. The selected person must present a certificate of their health status by the deadline. The position requires medication permits and previous experience working with people with intellectual disabilities. The work is three-shift work, focusing on evenings and weekends. The position also occasionally includes night shifts based on substitution needs, although our unit has permanent night nurses. Shift planning is done in six-week periods.
